UGH!

Life is moving so fast I can't keep up with blogging anymore- I assume you know why. Sorry Vermonter!

My first political memory was the 1980 general election. I was in 2nd grade and my class got to vote between Reagan, Carter, and Anderson. Reagan won overwhelmingly (surprise surprise) then we had a school assembly to show the results how the rest of the school voted... again you know who won. I kinda got swept up in that election and everyone in my immediate/extended family were all Reagan fans. So when I heard the principal say Reagan won the Sunset Heights presidental election, I got all excited and cheered with what I think was, the rest of the school. Hey, I was in 2nd grade! Didn't know too much about the man then, other than my mom HATED Jimmy Carter immensely (her fav. was Gerald Ford and she's told me many times how much she cried after Ford lost the '76 election).

On election night I also remember watching results trickle in on NBC and I vividly remember that big map of the U.S. in the back when a state would blink "red" on & off when a state went to Reagan. Being 7 years old, I thought that was cool. And that was that.

I will say one other thing that happened before that. It was 1979 and my mom, my aunt & I went to a book store and I remember looking at this book on the Presidents of the United States. I read that book religiously over and over and over again that I memorized all these crazy tidbits of information on every President up to Jimmy Carter. I don't know how I was able to retain all that info, but I did.

I still have that book to this day.

I just received an e-mail from Shay Totten apologizing for the oversight.

I want to make it clear that I did not think it was done on purpose. If I did, you can be sure I would have blogged about it!

> I was the only blogger in the entire Guardian article whose blog url was not included - in both the print and online editions.

No fair.

Something should be done about that.

Let's see...
