How much lower can Fox News go?

Just the mere fact that he was raised Catholic and Muslim is unique. Being multi-cultural can contribute in a meaningful way, especially in terms of foreign policy decisions. Of course, the hacks at Fox News deteste diversity and want to remain in the dark in terms of social issues.

As for Obama's drug problems. Yeah, so what? He got over them. And so did Bush but they neve made that an issue. In fact that Fox News anchor who brought it up was talked down to/corrected as if Bush never had any struggles.

OMG! Why on earth do they remain the #1 news network on cable? We may never know.

[...] And I’ve been meaning to comment again on NBC’s Brian Williams’ rather silly anti-user-driven media campaign he’s on, but Jamison Foser does a far better job than I’d do. Damn, I bet he gets paid to do that. [...]

I've always found the talking heads on "Greater Boston" very patronizing when it comes to any kind of activst issue whther they be social or political.

I'm glad this is being talked about and it's making the rounds on the blogosphere.

Check back on Friday. I heard the same folks will bring up the issue again... and one of my top favorite media critics will be on to give his 2 cents, Dan Kennedy of the Boston Phoenix. He's also got some things to say about this incident on his blog, http://www.medianation.blogspot.com/. Check it out.

Cheers.

I find it kinda odd how much desire there is to “inform” people that things aren’t all so rosy in Obamaland

Not sure why you'd consider it "odd" per se. It's just that so much enthusiasm so fast (and seemingly based on so little) is in-and-of-itself worth commenting on (and is in fact the real message from folks like Bowers, frankly - sort of a "hold on there, pardner... let's talk about this before we go blazing forward with quite such astonishing force.... let's keep the train under our control, and not vice-versa"). I don't think it's anything more than that, initially. Once the back-and-forth of defensiveness begins, though, we have a new problem.

Awesome diary Vermonter!

Here's the question I want to raise though. A fill in the blanks question... so to speak.

I read this > Obama’s poised to be a great transformational leader.

Where is the evidence? My initial reaction is we can't base that on one speech he gave at the Democratic National Convention, but there's something more to that and I assume it's out there or else people wouldn't be making these kinds of statements. What is it?

I personally would like to see him move away from the DLC-molded candidate. Rahm Emanuel and co. have hurt the party IMHO and I would be dissapointed to see an Evan Bayh, Hillary Clinton get the nod. But someone who kinda fits the mold of what Howard Dean and/or the netroots put forth.

Let's hope Obama goes down that route. Now is the time, especially after these mid-term elections.

Just some random thoughts...
